General Ledger Staff Accountant (FT)

: JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant General Ledger The purpose of this role is to assist with the month end close including general ledger work paper analyses and balance sheet account reconciliations. JOB FOCUS: Focus is on, but not limited to the following:

• Performs all functions in accordance with applicable GAAP, Gaming Control Board, Federal and other laws and gaming regulations and SAHARA Las Vegas policies and procedures
• Participation in all activities related to the monthly close process, including accurate & timely preparation of journal entries (supported by well-documented reconciliations), and the timely research/resolution of various business matters that have accounting implications
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis on a monthly basis
• Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports
• Assist the accounting management as needed to complete ad-hoc projects, month-end and year-end reports.
• Assist in coordinating internal and external audit requests
• Performs other duties as assigned

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in account or related field
• Three (3) years' experience in accounting or similar
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal forms
• A professional demeanor and attire is to be maintained at all times
• Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
• Must be able to perform in a team environment
• Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of staff and leadership
• Previous experience in a high-end luxury Gaming or Hospitality environment is desired
• Previous experience with Infinium, Stratton Warran and Opera
• Must have exceptional time management skills
• An intermediate to proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is preferred
• Proven ability to resolve guest conflicts with ease or determine if management is needed in certain guest situations
• Must be 21 years of age or older
