Our mission is to build nation's preeminent eye care services company by partnering with world class physicians, driving superior clinical and surgical outcomes, and optimizing the patient experience.Position SummaryThe Surgical Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of scheduling surgical procedures and daily operations of the facility. This position also includes material management responsibilities and inventory control.Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6AM to 5PMRoles and ResponsibilitiesSchedule all patient surgical and pre-operative appointments, including those with the patient's primary care physician, surgical facility, ophthalmologist or technician, and Shared Care.Counsel patients regarding all aspects of surgery including eye drop instructions, instructions for day of surgery, and post-operative instructionsCollects all pertinent information for upcoming surgery, such as bookings, lens orders, insurance, H&Ps, and signed consent forms, and transfers to surgical facility.Runs accurate calculations as required, i.e. LASIK, RK, Toric, and other calculations as indicated.If assigned to surgeon, maintains their surgical schedule and addresses requests in a timely manner.Answer all telephone inquiries from patients, their families, or primary care physicians and Shared Care doctors concerning surgery and/or related concerns.Assist in the daily functions of the operating room for surgical cases.Perform other tasks as assigned.Experience RequirementsOne year experience in a surgical specialty practice, ophthalmology preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organization with attention to detail.Demonstrates computer literacy.Capable of meeting high volume of patient surgical scheduling.Good attitude, professionalism, promote team cohesion.Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
