THE ROLE:

As a Cook 2 at NoMI , you will be entrusted with upholding the precision, artistry, and discipline that define our culinary identity. In this role, you will lead your station with confidence and autonomy, executing refined techniques and maintaining impeccable mise en place that reflects the standards of a worldclass kitchen. You will craft dishes with intention, honoring seasonality, ingredient integrity, and the culinary vision set forth by our Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef. Your work will require a deep understanding of flavor development, temperature control, and elevated plating, ensuring that every dish leaving your station embodies the elegance and consistency expected in a Forbesrated dining experience. As a key member of the brigade, you will collaborate seamlessly with fellow culinarians, contributing to a culture grounded in respect, discipline, and continuous refinement. You will also play an important mentorship role, guiding junior team members and helping elevate the collective performance of the kitchen. With a commitment to excellence, organization, and poise under pressure, you will help shape the guest experience and uphold the reputation of NoMI as one of Chicago’s most distinguished culinary destinations.

WAGE INFORMATION:

The hourly rate for this position is $28.05 , reflective of the competitive compensation offered at Park Hyatt Chicago. This position is also eligible for overtime and premium pay under applicable circumstances.

• Experience: A minimum of three years of professional linelevel culinary experience, ideally within a luxury hotel, Forbesrated restaurant, or finedining environment where precision, consistency, and elevated technique are essential.

• Technique: Demonstrated mastery of advanced cooking methods, including refined sauce work, precise temperature control, butchery fundamentals, and elevated plating that reflects a sophisticated culinary point of view.

• Education: A culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred, showcasing a strong foundation in classical and contemporary culinary principles.

• Leadership: The ability to guide, support, and inspire junior culinarians, contributing to a culture of mentorship, discipline, and continuous refinement within the brigade.

• Ingredient Knowledge: A deep understanding of seasonality, sourcing, and ingredient integrity, with the ability to translate that knowledge into thoughtful, expressive dishes.

• Professionalism: A poised, polished presence in the kitchen, demonstrating grace under pressure, impeccable organization, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and station readiness.

• Hospitality: A genuine desire to elevate the guest experience through culinary excellence, embodying the spirit of luxury hospitality in every detail.
