Equal Opportunity Employer Responsibilities The Substance Use Disorder Counselor under general supervision and as part of a team is responsible for the administration of standard screening and risk assessments with participants. This position will be assigned specific participants, referred to as a “caseload,” and monitor the service delivery for these participants from intake to discharge within the Pretrial Complex (Region IV Baltimore City, MD). Administer, score, and interpret all required screening and assessment tools including but not limited to the Texas Christian University (TCU) Drug Screen, Treatment Assignment Protocol (TAP), and the University of Rhode Island Change Assessment (URICA). May also use other assessment and substance‑abuse evaluation tools to support ASAM placement. Conduct screenings and assessments during the intake process and back‑end screenings for standing populations. Conduct post‑testing for participants as they progress through the program. Interview participants to collect additional data not covered by the above assessment tools. Provide individual and group substance‑abuse counseling. Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, discharge summaries, and daily productivity trackers. Maintain clinical chart per the Code of Maryland (COMAR) regulations and requirements. Complete discharge and aftercare plans. Participate in All Staff Meetings and Workplace Violence Meetings. Attend clinical supervision actively. May participate in other Participant‑Staffing Meetings, Case Consultations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must hold an ADT designation. Must be able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings. Experience providing human service functions preferred. Ability to interact professionally in both individual and group counseling settings. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with participants, staff, and leadership, and react quickly and appropriately in emergencies.
