Group Specialist

Job Summary Responsible for selling Norwegian Cruise Line reservations directly to consumers by cultivating and maintaining customer relationships. This entails making phone calls to promote and sell group reservations, drive direct group and individual reservations, and ensure a superior customer service experience. Position Responsibilities Promote sales to direct consumers by initiating calls and acting on leads and/or prospects to identify travel needs. Present and explain Norwegian Cruise Line products and make travel recommendations. Establish and maintain quality customer relationships by delivering exceptional service, establishing rapport, and meeting customer needs and expectations. Follow up with consumers to close sales. Research and resolve general and specific reservation inquiries, including general questions, itinerary details, related amenities, and group bookings. Build and maintain effective relationships with new and existing consumers. Maintain consumer prospect lists and contact databases to identify travel trends. Seek opportunities to promote and sell group reservations based on client travel history. Acquire in‑depth industry and company knowledge to articulate product features, benefits, pricing, promotions, itineraries, and ancillary products such as stateroom upgrades and onboard credits. Contact direct group leads and qualify them based on their group’s needs and requests. Make recommendations and secure, allocate, and book group space, then forward group contracts to guests. Maintain a relationship with group leaders and individual group guests. Attend and actively participate in daily team meetings or relevant sales trainings to ensure proper sales techniques and accurate information are used. Perform other job‑related functions as assigned. Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Experience Minimum 1 year of sales experience required. Cruise sales experience preferred. Knowledge & Skills Excellent verbal communication skills for telephone interactions and internal communication. Strong working knowledge of Norwegian Cruise Line products, current fleet, and itineraries. Proven record of excellent customer service and retention skills. Ability to multi‑task and work efficiently in a high‑energy, goal‑ and quota‑driven sales environment. Strong problem‑solving, research, and resolution skills. Negotiation skills and ability to balance guest interests with revenue and program guidelines. Adherence to dress code is strictly enforced.
