TerraPower, LLC. seeks a safety professional to serve as the EHS Coordinator, responsible for overseeing and managing the environmental, health, and safety program. The EHS Coordinator provides leadership and guidance to ensure location compliance with regulations, promotes a safe work environment, and drives continuous improvement in worker health and safety. Responsibilities EHS Program Implementation and Management: Ensure site‑specific EHS programs, policies, and procedures align with company goals and objectives. Act as the primary contact for implementing EHS programs in the organization’s facilities or sites. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., NRC, OSHA, EPA). Conduct inspections and audits to assess compliance with regulations and company policies. Serve as the main point of contact for EHS regulatory agencies and external EHS audits. Risk Assessment and Incident Prevention: Identify risks, unsafe practices, and implement controls to mitigate those risks. Review workplace risk/exposure assessments. Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Training and Education: Ensure EHS training programs for employees at all levels have been adopted. Ensure employees and managers are trained and knowledgeable of their EHS responsibilities. Performance Tracking and Improvement: Track and analyze EHS performance metrics. Develop and implement annual improvement plans based on performance data. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance. Leadership and Support: Provide EHS leadership and guidance to site employees and management. Support and mentor field service employees and local leadership teams. Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams (e.g., operations, training) to drive program success. Hazard Identification and Evaluation: Identify and analyze potential workplace hazards such as chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological exposures, and conduct worksite analyses to pinpoint problem areas. Exposure Assessment: Measure the level of worker exposure to identified hazards through environmental monitoring. Hazard Control and Mitigation: Develop and recommend controls to minimize hazards, including engineering controls, work‑practice changes, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment. Key Qualifications and Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline. Experience: 7‑10 years of experience in EHS or environmental programs, typically in manufacturing, production, laboratory, or service operations; experience in a large, complex environment is desired. Proven leadership or management experience. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team. Technical expertise in specific areas such as electrical safety or hazardous materials may be required depending on the industry. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation is highly recommended. High degree of trust and integrity, open communication, respect, and teamwork orientation. Job Functions Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands). Physical Exertion: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds. Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work. Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day. Job Details Salary Range: $102,804 - $154,206. The range is specific to Washington State.
