Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction

We are seeking an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers while gaining exposure to all phases of commercial construction. Position Summary The Assistant Project Manager provides support to the Project Management team from project buyout through closeout. This individual will assist in coordinating subcontractors, managing project documentation, tracking costs, scheduling, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position is designed as a training route to become a full time Project Manager. We are considering all types of construction background for this position. Responsibilities Project Administration Assist Project Managers in the day-to-day management of commercial construction projects. Prepare and maintain project documentation. (change order, RFI’s, Submittals, etc.) Coordinate with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and subcontractors. Attend project meetings and distribute meeting minutes. Maintain project files in Procore (or similar software). Assist in weekly job progress reports to appropriate stakeholders. Track permits, inspections, and project documentation. Contract Administration Assist in preparing subcontract agreements. Process subcontractor pay applications. Review lien waivers and insurance certificates. Assist with project buyout. Cost Control Assist in preparing project budgets. Prepare Owner and subcontractor change orders. Assist with monthly cost projections. Maintain accurate budget reports. Scheduling Assist in maintaining project schedules. Coordinate deliveries with field personnel. Field Coordination Work closely with Superintendents. Assist with preconstruction meetings.
