SQL Server Database AdministratorDuration: 12-month contract Location: Remote, Downey, CA, 90242 Pay Range: $55 - 65/hr. on W2 Job ID: #26-35804Additional Skills Required: Expertise in the configuration and upgrading of Client SQL Server versions 2016 and above; Proficient in the implementation and administration of Always On Availability Groups and High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions for SQL Server 2016 and later; Competence in the deployment and management of Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instances, SQL Server on Amazon EC2, and AWS RDS for SQL Server; Competence in utilizing migration tools such as SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) and Database Migration Assistant (DMA); Competence in cross platform conversions and migrations of Client SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases between on premise data centers and Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP); Aptitude in configuring and maintaining monitoring with Client System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) monitoring solutions; Skilled at executing comprehensive backup and recovery strategies; Proficient in employing automation and scripting technologies such as Client PowerShell, for robust workflow automation; Competent with database security patching using Client Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), or Tanium; Dexterity in producing detailed architecture diagrams and procedure documentation; Possesses effective communication skills to collaborate with customers, project stakeholders, and vendors.Experience Required: This classification must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in systems development, analysis, programming or testing.10 years of experience performing Client SQL Server installations, configurations, security, encryptions, patching, monitoring and administration5 years of experience managing enterprise Client SQL Server farms of 300+ servers5 years of experience developing automation scripts in the administration of Client SQL Server functions with tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell or similar tools5 years of experience migrating and upgrading Client SQL Server onto latest supported versions3 years of experience of Client SQL Server cloud migrations from on premise3 years of experience managing Azure SQL or SQL Managed Instances5 years of experience architecting, configuring, and managing Client SQL Server Always On Availability Groups (AG) and High Availability (HA) Disaster Recovery (DR) setups5 years of experience performing SQL Server backups and recoveries with Commvault, SQL Server Management Studio or similar tools.Education Required: This classification requires the possession of a bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.Additional Education Required: Cloud certifications such as Azure Fundamentals and above, AWS Cloud Practitioner and above, Client Professional, or Professional Google Cloud.
