Staff Accountant

Our client, a growing commercial construction company, is seeking a Contract Staff Accountant to support accounting and finance operations across multiple active projects. This position will focus on job cost accounting, project financial analysis, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a deadline-driven environment and has prior experience supporting construction or engineering organizations.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and reconcile project-related transactions.Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.Support month-end and year-end close activities.Monitor project budgets and perform job cost analysis.Assist with subcontractor billing, lien waivers, and vendor payments.Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.Reconcile retainage receivable and payable accounts.Assist with cash flow forecasting and project reporting.Prepare audit schedules and support annual audits.Analyze variances between estimated and actual project costs.
