Family Practice - Without OB Physician

We are seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians, including ABFM Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine physicians with recent Emergency Medicine experience, for ongoing locum coverage for Emergency Departments in Rhode Island.

Assignment Details

• Projected Start Date: November 15, 2026
• Ongoing locum coverage
• ABFM Board Certification accepted with recent Emergency Medicine experience
• BC/BE Emergency Medicine physicians also accepted
• Clean credentialing/background history strongly preferred

Schedule

• 10-hour physician shifts
• Approximately 30 physician coverage hours per day at each location
• Utilizes a 3-on/4-off, 4-on/3-off rotation
• APP support provided daily
• Additional on-call APP available as needed

Practice Setting

• Hospital-based Emergency Departments
• Approximately 55,000 combined annual ED visits
• Higher-volume location: approximately 33,000 annual visits
• Second location: approximately 22,000 annual visits
• Approximately 85 daily encounters at the higher-volume location
• Approximately 69 daily encounters at the second location
• Meditech EMR
• Limited resident rotations

Staffing & Support

• Approximately 30 physician coverage hours daily at each site
• Higher-volume location: approximately 16 APP hours daily
• Second location: approximately 8 APP hours daily
• Additional on-call APP support available when needed

Requirements

• MD or DO
• ABFM Board Certified/Board Eligible with recent Emergency Medicine experience accepted
• BC/BE Emergency Medicine physicians accepted
• Recent, substantial Emergency Department experience required for Family Medicine candidates
• Comfortable independently managing community Emergency Department patients
• Clean professional and credentialing history strongly preferred
• Ability to provide ongoing coverage preferred

Ideal Candidate

An experienced Family Medicine physician with ABFM boards and a strong recent Emergency Medicine background, or a traditionally trained BC/BE Emergency Medicine physician.
