Associate Attorney - Construction Litigation

Associate Attorney — Construction Litigation Position Overview: Lydecker is seeking an associate attorney with 5 years of experience. The position is hybrid and will be working with our FL offices. The applicant should be admitted to practice in FL. Under the supervision of a partner, the associate will handle a variety of cases, including the defense of construction litigation and general liability. This is an opportunity to work in our defense litigation practice group either in Boca Raton or Miami. Job Requirements Florida bar license in good standing. JD from an ABA‑approved law school. Minimum of 5 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in construction defect litigation. Experience handling up to 15 cases simultaneously, including depositions, court appearances, motion and discovery drafting; mediation and trial experience is a plus. Basic computer skills – Internet, spreadsheet and word‑processing software; proficiency with Microsoft products preferred; ability to type and operate office equipment. Self‑motivated, independent, strong client communication skills. Excellent oral communication – clear, persuasive, active listening, and meeting participation. Clear written communication – concise, grammatically correct, appropriate style, effective presentation of data, strong editing. Commitment to ethics – confidentiality of client and firm information; understanding of general rules of ethical behavior applicable to lawyers. Job Responsibilities Bill minimums according to firm policy. Draft, review and respond to petitions, complaints, motions and discovery. Attend hearings, client meetings, and depositions, and prepare for depositions. Assist with preparation for mediations and trials. Benefits One‑on‑one mentorship and training by Partners.
