The employer is Chorus.com . About Us We are a small but growing tech startup building an in‑house media studio from the ground up in NYC. We produce long‑form podcast and YouTube content focused on AI Agents, Vibecoding, and other tech and AI tools, and are scaling our production into a dedicated studio space with multiple purpose‑built sets. Our studio supports the content operation of Riley Brown — tech founder, builder, and creator with an established audience across YouTube and X covering AI, startups, and the future of technology. We’re building toward a consistent weekly production schedule and growing our short‑form presence across YouTube Shorts, X, and other platforms. Role We're looking for a Short Form / Clip Editor to join us in‑house at our NYC studio. Your job is to watch long‑form educational tech content and find the moments that stop someone mid‑scroll, make a concept click, or make a viewer want to watch the full episode. This is not a traditional editing role where you execute someone else’s vision. We want someone with genuine instincts for what performs on social, who understands the tech and AI space well enough to know which ideas and moments actually matter, and who can turn a 45‑minute episode into a library of clips that each stand on their own. This is a part‑time role to start, with a clear path to full‑time as our content volume grows. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us — not just clip, but eventually own more of the visual creative output of the studio. If you have motion design skills alongside your editing chops, this role will expand in that direction intentionally. Source content ranges from structured podcast episodes to long‑form livestreams of one to four hours. This means you need to be efficient — knowing how to scan, identify energy and value quickly, and find the moments that matter without watching everything at 1x speed. Deep familiarity with our subject matter is what makes that possible. Because clipping is time‑sensitive and social‑first, we need someone available on a consistent, predictable schedule — not fully async. Clips that are relevant on Monday lose their moment by Thursday. We’ll agree on set days and hours upfront so everyone is aligned. Being in‑house matters for this role — you’ll be in the room during shoots, absorbing the content in real time, and developing a deep familiarity with our talent and subject matter that a remote editor simply can’t match. What You’ll Own Watching long‑form episodes and identifying the highest‑value clip moments Editing clips for YouTube Shorts, X, Instagram, and TikTok Adding captions, formatting for vertical and horizontal formats Developing a consistent clip style and visual language for short‑form content Creating motion graphics, animated title cards, lower thirds, and kinetic text as the role grows Staying on top of what’s performing in the tech and AI content space and bringing those insights back to the team Collaborating with the producer on clip strategy and volume What We’re Looking For Strong instincts for short‑form content — you should be able to watch something and immediately know what’s clippable Genuine interest in and knowledge of AI, tech startups, and the creator space — you need to understand the content to edit it well Proficiency in Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar Motion design skills — After Effects, animation, kinetic typography — a strong plus and a growth path in this role Experience editing clips or short‑form content for social platforms Fast turnaround without sacrificing quality — clips need to move quickly to stay relevant NYC‑based and able to work in‑studio on a consistent, agreed‑upon schedule Someone who stays current on what’s trending in short‑form content and brings that energy to the role What This Is Not This is not a long‑form editing role. If you’re looking for a slow, methodical post‑production environment this probably isn’t the right fit. We move fast, the content is technically dense, and the best clips will come from someone who is genuinely plugged into the world we’re covering.
