Senior Network Engineer

Salary: $125,000 - 155,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• We look for at least 12 years of experience in a technology-related role, including 7 years in systems analysis.
• You must have hands-on experience with physical network infrastructure, including cabling standards, fiber optics, network interfaces, connectors, and physical connectivity troubleshooting.
• You should have strong knowledge of Layer 2 networking, including Ethernet, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, and Layer 2 security.
• You need advanced expertise in enterprise routing, including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, IP addressing, subnetting, VRF, and IPv4/IPv6.
• We expect experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Aruba, or similar technologies.
• You should have experience with Software-Defined Networking and Software-Defined Wide Area Networking solutions.
• You must be familiar with network security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, access control, and security best practices.
• You need advanced working knowledge of enterprise switching, QoS, PoE, multicast, and Precision Time Protocol.
• Experience with MPLS, SD-WAN, WAN optimization, and remote access solutions is required.
• You should understand modern data center networking architectures such as spine-leaf, VXLAN, EVPN, and high-availability designs.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, or equivalent is required.
• You should have exposure to cloud networking concepts and services in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• We value experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef, and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Shell.
• You should have experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or similar platforms.
• Experience with change management, technical documentation, configuration management, process automation, solution design, and implementation is preferred.
• Advanced networking certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent are preferred.
• We expect strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management tools such as Salesforce.
• You must be able to read, analyze, and interpret quotes and reports, and communicate effectively in English.
• You need a valid drivers license, motor vehicle insurance meeting state minimum requirements, and the ability to travel as needed.
• You should be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.

• We design, install, configure, troubleshoot, and manage enterprise networking solutions.
• We research, evaluate, and recommend networking tools, technologies, and solutions aligned with customer business and technical goals.
• We work directly with customers and end users to design and implement networking solutions and provide network policy guidance.
• We translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
• We develop implementation plans and alternative technical designs that balance performance, scalability, and cost.
• We create solutions that improve reliability, reduce risk, and lower total lifecycle cost.
• We support engineers with advanced technical work such as debugging, hardware support, system integration, and troubleshooting.
• We identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues, including escalated requests from our Managed Services team.
• We provide advanced technical expertise for implementation, maintenance, and optimization of customer network environments.
• We manage customer communication professionally, keeping stakeholders informed on expectations, project status, issue resolution, and completion.
• We deliver product training, technical assistance, and knowledge transfer to customers and internal teams.
• We act as a technical advisor by recommending networking solutions that fit customer operational needs.
• We assist sales teams with pre-sales technical support and help identify professional services opportunities across security, networking, storage/systems, virtualization, and voice/mobility.
• We communicate our value proposition through technical presentations, proposals, demonstrations, and supporting sales materials.
• We lead or support network-related projects by managing scope, timelines, assignments, stakeholder updates, and implementation.
• We manage assigned projects and technical work to ensure efficient, timely service delivery.
• We develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, including BOMs, project scopes, implementation plans, SOWs, and operational procedures.
• We follow company policies and procedures for documenting activity in our CRM and service delivery tools.
• We maintain accurate and timely project, customer, and service records.
• We perform additional duties as assigned.
