Network & VoIP Engineer

Salary: $80,000 - 110,000 per year Requirements:

• We need 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a comparable position, ideally within an MSP or multi-site environment.
• We expect strong hands-on expertise with firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless networking.
• We need a solid grasp of networking protocols, routing, and switching fundamentals.
• We require practical experience deploying and supporting hosted VoIP systems in SMB settings, including cutovers, carrier number porting, and telecom coordination during voice migrations.
• We prefer familiarity with QoS configuration and network segmentation for voice traffic.
• We value relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent credentials.
• We prefer experience working in MSP environments or managing networks for multiple clients.
• We value experience with PSA tools such as Autotask and documentation platforms like IT Glue.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, including Azure or AWS networking, is a plus.
• We look for strong problem-solving ability and a proactive troubleshooting mindset.
• We need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical clients.
• We expect strong documentation habits and disciplined ticket closure notes.
• We want someone who can prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• We design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, managed switches, VLANs, wireless controllers, and access points.
• We plan, deploy, and administer hosted VoIP solutions, including number porting, provisioning, cutover coordination, and client training.
• We troubleshoot voice quality issues, call routing problems, and connectivity failures.
• We configure QoS and network segmentation to support dependable voice traffic.
• We monitor and optimize network performance to minimize downtime.
• We implement network security controls and review firewall policies based on each clients risk profile.
• We partner with clients to assess their networking and voice needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• We coordinate with internal teams to communicate project timelines and manage client expectations during deployments and ongoing changes.
• We provide expert guidance on network and VoIP best practices and improvement opportunities.
• We perform regular assessments, upgrades, and firmware updates to improve reliability and performance.
• We create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, and procedural documentation.
• We log all work with complete notes and time in our PSA and documentation systems.
• We provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for network and voice issues.
• We participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours network and VoIP incidents.
