Position Title: Director of Finance

This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to work directly with the CEO while overseeing budgeting, governmental accounting and long-term financial strategy for a mission-driven organization.

The Director of Finance will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of a governmental entity dedicated to enhancing community health and wellness. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in municipal finance and governmental accounting. The role demands strong analytical skills and the ability to present financial information effectively to a highly engaged Board of Directors.


Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 / Year DOE

Director of Finance Responsibilities:

• Lead all finance and accounting operations
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
• Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships
• Oversee debt, bonds, pensions, and OPEB
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, audits, and compliance with government accounting standards
• Present financial reports to the Board of Directors
• Supervise the accounting team and improve financial processes and internal controls

Director of Finance Requirements:

• Local Government or Special Districts experience is required
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, GASB, and reporting
• Experience managing debt, investments, and treasury functions
• Supervisory/management experience is required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Master's degree is preferred
• CPA is preferred
