Step into a dynamic role supporting student success as a full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a vibrant educational setting near Jupiter, FL. In this contract position, you will work closely with students on a behavioral caseload at an alternative school, making a tangible difference each day.
Leverage your expertise in speech-language support within both educational and healthcare settings, and put your AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) experience to great use. This opportunity provides a rich and rewarding caseload, as you collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to empower students and foster communication growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active SLPA license required
- Hands-on experience in school-based or healthcare SLPA roles
- Demonstrated proficiency with AAC devices and strategies
- Experience working with students exhibiting behavioral challenges
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet individualized needs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with staff, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Implement AAC systems to support student communication
- Deliver targeted interventions to address students' behavioral and communication goals
- Support comprehensive IEP goals, maintain precise documentation, and report progress
- Engage in solution-focused collaboration with teachers, mental health professionals, and families
- Participate in training and professional development tailored to behavioral and AAC methodologies
