Certified Surgical Technologist – Ophthalmology

• Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Gross weekly: $2,050/week to $2,150/week (Travel Contract)

Shift Details:

• Schedule Notes: 0630am-0500pm. 4 days a week. No call/ no weekend/ no holidays.

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with Ophthalmology experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Oklahoma City, OK. The Surgical Tech will provide technical assistance during surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile operating environment and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms using physician preference cards
• Set up sterile fields and open instruments/supplies using sterile technique
• Perform surgical scrub prior to procedures
• Assist physicians with patient draping and operative field preparation
• Handle and identify operative specimens correctly for laboratory analysis
• Prepare and ensure functionality of surgical equipment and instruments
• Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures and provide instruments/supplies as needed
• Recognize and correct breaks in sterile technique
• Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments, equipment, and operating rooms
• Assist in training surgical technicians as needed
• Follow all safety, infection control, and patient care standards

Requirements:

• Ophthalmology Surgical Tech experience required
• NBSTSA or NCCT Required
• BLS through the American Heart Association required

Patient Population:

Must be able to provide age-appropriate care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
