Fellowship Opportunity in Advanced Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery and Microvascular Reconstruction
Our organization is excited to announce an opening for a fellowship in Advanced Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery and Microvascular Reconstruction. This one-year surgical program offers extensive hands-on experience, with the possibility of extending to two years based on the fellow's career goals and research interests. Participation in mission electives is highly encouraged.
Program OverviewThe fellowship is supported by a team of eight full-time, fellowship-trained Head & Neck surgical oncologists, five of whom specialize in microvascular reconstruction. Additionally, two oncologic surgeons are based at our affiliated VA facility. The fellow will benefit from the expertise of two endoscopic skull base surgeons, three facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons, and three laryngologists, enhancing their learning experience.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in advanced surgical procedures, including major head and neck ablative surgeries, microvascular reconstructions, TOLMS/TORS, endoscopic skull base surgery, open/craniofacial surgery, advanced trauma care, and complex skin cancer reconstructions.
- Participate in thyroid and parathyroid surgeries, utilizing minimally invasive techniques and addressing re-operative cases.
- Work closely with faculty at our institution, selecting cases with minimal oversight to foster a fellow-directed and balanced learning experience.
- Involve in intraoperative teaching for residents and engage in limited research activities.
- Opportunity to assist at the VA or county hospital for specific cases, if desired.
This fellowship is focused solely on surgical experience, with no call or clinic responsibilities. A California Medical License is a prerequisite for this position.

Compensation and BenefitsThe starting base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $104,000, adjusted according to years of experience and faculty rank. This figure does not encompass variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to departmental compensation policies. Detailed discussions regarding compensation will occur during the recruitment process.
