General Accounting Manager (Hybrid)

About This Role The General Accounting Manager manages the accounting function to ensure timely and accurate completion of the month end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, audit preparation, and other related accounting duties. Essential Job Functions Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and other personnel related activities. Leads, coaches and sets professional goals for staff to align with business needs. Ensures integrity of financial statements for Hunter Industries and Hunter L.P. to aid management's decision-making process. Manages the month-end close process end-to-end; establishes and communicates deadlines, maintains close schedules, and ensures timely recording of journal entries and account reconciliations. Manages the fixed asset function and related depreciation for GAAP and tax, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Coordinates all foreign accounting and ensures accurate transfers to the general ledger in US dollars. Monitors and reviews international account balances, reconciliations and financial preparation. Reviews and monitors monthly variance comments to ensure they are completed and accurate, aiding in monthly reporting and analysis. Prepares and reviews audit schedules and documentation in support of interim and year-end audits and international financial reviews. Manages the accruals and calculations and reviews of the quarterly and annual rebate and incentive payouts. Assesses current practices and procedures and recommends improvements through technology or other means. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting, and accounting. Ensures compliance with financial transaction recording standards. Maintains regular collaboration with business partners across finance, operations, sales, marketing, and other functional areas to ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant presentation and review of monthly financial results. Provides financial support, as requested, to other functional departments/groups within the organization. Education/Training Required and Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a combination of education and relevant work experience. Experience Required and Preferred Minimum of 8 years in accounting, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Manufacturing experience preferred. What You Bring Knowledgeable in generally accepted accounting principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in the use of computers with strong knowledge of computerized spreadsheets. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work under minimal supervision, self-initiating activities and working within timelines. Effective leadership skills to coordinate efforts and work with other departments. Ability to set goals and objectives and to meet timelines to achieve goals and objectives. Flexibility and adaptability to changing organizational needs. Compensation The salary for this opportunity ranges from $115,000 to $125,000. The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations regarding pay.
