A pharmacy professional opportunity is available for a dedicated Pharmacist specializing in long-term care, located in Ayden, NC. This contract position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on patient health in a collaborative healthcare environment, with potential for contract-to-hire.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately while monitoring patient medication compliance and over-usage.
• Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal requirements and verify suitability of prescribed medications.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
• Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, drug interactions, and respond to inquiries.
• Provide patient services including smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper use and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions adhering to established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
• Identify drug-related patient problems and collaborate closely with healthcare providers including physicians, nurses, and pharmacy interns.
• Perform PV1 and PV2 duties as part of pharmacy operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current, valid NC Pharmacist license in-hand.
• Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided as needed.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with an ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.
