Human Resources Intern

Job Details Job Location: Headquarters - Bryan, TX 77803 Position Type: Internship Salary Range: $15.00 - $16.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day Job Summary The Human Resources Intern is responsible for providing general administrative support to the human resources office, with a primary focus on assisting with open enrollment and special projects during the fall semester, as well as providing front desk coverage as needed. Shift Availability Monday‑Friday 8:00AM‑12:30PM Monday‑Friday 12:30PM‑5:00PM Duties and Responsibilities Organize and manage physical and digital files, documents, and records, including creating new files, labeling and categorizing documents, and ensuring items are up to date. Assist with organizing HR documents and disseminating them to employees and managers in all offices. Assist with open enrollment during the fall benefits enrollment period, including preparing enrollment materials, answering employee questions, and tracking completed forms. Support special HR projects throughout the fall semester as assigned. May provide front desk coverage as needed, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and directing inquiries to the appropriate HR team member. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bilingual in Spanish & English. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidential information and sign a confidentiality agreement. Detail‑oriented and able to identify errors or discrepancies in data or documents; maintain accurate records and ensure paperwork is complete. Some knowledge of human resource functions. Works with little supervision, strong leadership skills, and capability of working with diverse personalities. Ability to handle stressful situations when they arise and make sound judgments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional attendance. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other programs. Professional attitude and appearance. Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field. High school diploma or equivalent required. Essential Functions of the Job Sits for several hours or more per day. May stand and walk several hours per day. Sometimes lifts and carries heavy objects. Bends, stretches, reaches, and twists while performing duties of the job. Frequently uses fingers to operate telephone, grasp and use writing implements and papers, operate calculator and computer, and perform other job duties. Must have corrected vision to: complete forms and other necessary paperwork, be aware of surroundings and location of items needed, perform various job duties. Must have corrected hearing to: listen to needs of customers in person and over the telephone, to hear needs and advice from supervisor and co‑workers, be aware of surroundings. Must be able to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and customers, both over the phone and in person. Must be alert and able to identify a hazard, and if one occurs, correct or report immediately as necessary.
