Custodian/Kitchen Assistant for Childcare Center

Future Opening: Custodian/Kitchen Assistant for Childcare Center

Full Time • Cottage Grove

Kids' Safari Learning Center is a family-owned and operated learning center that serves Cottage Grove and surrounding communities. As of January 2022 we are under new ownership. We pride ourselves in providing top-notch care and giving children a safe place to learn and be a kid. We focus on play-based learning and take advantage of learning opportunities throughout the day, utilizing a curriculum that focuses on each child's individual development and promotes healthy social and emotional growth. Each week, classrooms get the opportunity to attend a library session with our in-house librarian and have daily opportunities to visit our gym for large motor play.

Our custodian and kitchen assistant would work independently to ensure center cleanliness. Additionally, work includes collaborating with our nutrition manager to ensure smooth operations of our kitchen. Duties could include washing and sanitizing dishes, cooking full meals for children in care, baking cakes to celebrate a child's birthday, and any other necessary kitchen tasks. We are seeking one full-time employee to work within our kitchen and take on the center cleaning responsibilities.

This position would be Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a half-hour break. Kids' Safari knows we wouldn't be what we are today without our hard-working, dedicated staff, supporting them in any way we can.

Kids' Safari offers the following benefits:

• Competitive Pay
• Paid Time Off
• Holiday Pay
• SIMPLE IRA with match
• Health Insurance (60% employer paid)
• Employee Tuition Discount (50% for each child enrolled)
• Paid Continuing Education Opportunities
• Meals while on site
• NO WEEKEND WORK

Compensation: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Kids' Safari's goal is to stimulate and enrich every child's learning experience through a balance of self- and teacher-directed activities in a nurturing and loving environment that will serve as a platform for every child to reach their highest potential.

Our goal is for each child to realize:

• Learn about themselves and others
• Learn about feelings and emotions
• Develop communication skills
• Develop moving and locomotion skill
• Acquire critical thinking skills

Our goal is for working with families:

• Build partnerships with all families
• Support families in their parenting roles
• Support families in their role as primary educators of their child
• Ensure that the home cultures of the children and families are valued and celebrated
