The Estimator will prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on time. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of construction and engineering processes. Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation. Bid Preparation: Develop and submit bids for new projects, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met. Quantity Take-Offs: Perform accurate quantity take-offs from plans and specifications to determine material and labor requirements. Vendor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, identifying potential cost savings and areas of concern. Risk Analysis: Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and develop mitigation strategies. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, bid proposals, and project costs. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals and requirements. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating, preferably in [your industry]. Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills to accurately estimate project costs and quantities. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure precision in estimates and bids. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as needed. Certifications: Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certifications are a plus.
