The College and Career Program Manager (CCPD) is responsible for overseeing and leading the college and career readiness programs for middle and high school students at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s (BGCPBC) teen-serving Clubs. The College and Career Readiness program focuses primarily on helping middle and high school members achieve academic success and graduate from high school on time, fully prepared to pursue their college or career plans. The Manger is responsible for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of initiatives that prepare members for postsecondary education, careers, and workforce success.

This position serves in a leadership capacity as part of the program team, managing staff performance, grant compliance, and budget adherence. The position requires annual program development, monitoring and tracking of grant outcomes, deliverables, analysis of data reports, and grant reporting.

The CCPD provides program leadership and training to all college and career program facilitators (Career Bound Managers, Career Bound Teachers and Teen Specialists) who are responsible for implementing all aspects of the program at their assigned Club site. The College and Career Readiness Program comprises Academic Enrichment; Career Exploration and Planning; College Readiness; Workforce Readiness and 21st Century Skills; Service-Learning and Club-based Employment. The CCPM also provides guidance to other peers (Program Managers, 21st Century Project Directors and Corporate Partnerships Manager) to ensure grant outcomes and deliverables are met.

Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):

Program Development

· In collaboration with the VP of Impact, Regional Impact Director and Impact Director of Youth Advancement, develop an annual College and Career Readiness program that delivers on organizational objectives and funder commitments.

· As part of the organization’s continuous quality improvement efforts, the CCPD will monitor the quality of program delivery, review planned versus actual outputs and outcomes and modify activities as appropriate.

· Identify and vet opportunities for new workforce development programs & Trade certifications.

· Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of college and career readiness data tracking systems with a focus on graduating 150 members annually.

· Oversee organization-wide systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting program outcomes to support data-driven decision-making and continuous quality improvement.

· Develop and execute a credentialing and/or badging system to denote members’ acquisition of skills and knowledge upon completion of curriculum or other workforce readiness experiences.

· Develop annual department goals & targets, strategic priorities, and performance benchmarks for all college and career readiness initiatives related to college applications, acceptance letters, scholarships, employment, internships, services hours, etc.

· Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of college and career readiness curricula, ensuring consistency and programming fidelity across all sites.

· Remain informed about BGCA & industry lead workforce readiness and service-learning initiatives by routinely accessing and other cutting-edge resources. Remain apprised of current research in these fields and advancements made at other BGC sites throughout the country to deliver a “best in class” program in Palm Beach County.

Program Management

· Work in collaboration with Executive Club Directors and Assistant Club Directors in delivering the optimum program by helping with the design of the best program schedule for the participants at each site.

· Help create an inclusive career and college readiness culture with Club Leadership, Club Staff, AmeriCorps members, programs team and members.

· Conduct weekly site visits and program observations to evaluate program quality, ensure consistency across sites, and provide coaching and technical assistance to Career Bound Managers.

· Monitor processes for data collection, program evaluation, and grant reporting monthly. Ensure that all Club staff are trained to administer assessments and properly collect, store and report data to BGCPBC teams and funders.

· Collect, Review and analyze organizational performance data related to teen recruitment, attendance, academic success, workforce readiness, scholarships, postsecondary placement, and grant outcomes, implementing corrective action plans when necessary.

· Build and maintain strategic partnerships with school districts, colleges, universities, employers, community organizations, and workforce development partners to expand opportunities for youth.

· Monitor the achievement of college and career development goals set in the organization’s strategic plan.

· Ensure organizational performance targets related to college readiness, career readiness, workforce development, service-learning, scholarships, and postsecondary placement are achieved.

· Ensure Career Bound Managers achieve established organizational performance benchmarks, including youth outreach, registered teen membership, average daily attendance (ADA), Career Launch participation, Transfer Explorers, Money Matters, Diplomas to Degrees, scholarship applications, service-learning participation, and postsecondary placements.

· Review monthly performance dashboards and data reports to evaluate progress toward organizational & site level targets, including 100 youth outreach contacts, 300+ registered teen members, 60 average daily attendance (ADA), 50 participants in Career Launch, Transfer Explorers, Money Matters, and Diplomas to Degrees, 90 scholarship applications, 700 service-learning hours, and 50 postsecondary placements per site, or other annual benchmarks established by the organization

Staff Management

· In collaboration with the Executive Club Directors, hire, onboard and provide ongoing professional development opportunities to Career Bound (CB) Managers ensuring that they are carrying out their functions as designated in the CB Manager job description, which includes managing the Teen Specialist and Career Bound Teachers and overseeing Youth Volunteer Corps (one of BGCPBC’s service-learning programs) and year-round Junior Staff employment programs.

· Facilitate regular Career Bound leadership meetings to review organizational priorities, performance data, best practices, grant requirements, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

· Partner with the STEM Program Manager, Cultural Arts Program Manager, SEL Program Manager, 21st CCLC Project Directors to elevate career readiness programming at all BGCPBC teen-serving sites by infusing academic and workforce readiness programming throughout all program areas.

· Support the VP of Marketing and Business Development and Corporate Partnership Manager in their efforts to research corporate sponsorships and help solicit donations to sustain and grow the programs and/or internship opportunities. Work with the marketing team to ensure effective marketing of the program.

· Work with Chief Administrative & Financial Officer (CAFO), VP of Programs and Grant Financial Specialist in monitoring annual budgets, receipts, and disbursements of grants, staying within budget parameters, providing timely corporate, federal, and state reports to CAFO & the Resource Development team.

· Work in collaboration with Impact Director of Youth Advancement in making sure national service volunteers (AmeriCorps Volunteers) and Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) participants are supporting all college and career readiness programmatic goals and objectives at their sites.

Relationships:

• Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with volunteers, staff, and supervisor to receive/provide information and discuss issues.
• E xternal: Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools’ external staff and volunteers, donors, and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

· Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.

· 5+ years of management/supervisory experience required.

· 5+ years of workforce development experience required.

· Experience developing and effectively managing large scale projects or initiatives with impactful results.

· Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends, when needed.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to create positive and professional relationships with other employers, vendors, funders, and donors.
