NP, Nurse Practitioner/PA, Physician Assistant - Inpatient Gastroenterology/GI

Description Job Summary We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Gastroenterology team in Longview, TX. This role is focused exclusively on inpatient GI coverage, working collaboratively with a gastroenterologist to manage the inpatient GI service. The APP will play a key role in evaluating consults, rounding on patients, and supporting continuity of care in a hospital-based setting. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and manage initial ER and floor consults for gastroenterology patients Perform daily inpatient rounding on GI patients Collaborate closely with the gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive inpatient GI coverage Assess and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions Order, interpret, and manage labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR Qualifications Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA) Previous inpatient, gastroenterology, hospital medicine, or internal medicine experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a hospital-based setting Excellent communication and teamwork skills Schedule & Compensation Inpatient only 7 on / 7 off schedule (Thursday–Wednesday) 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts) Competitive compensation based on experience Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, malpractice coverage, PTO, CME allowance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match Why Longview?
