ENTRY Phlebotomist I

Job TitlePay Range: $12.75hr - $17.75hrRequirement/Must HaveAbility to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.Willingness to work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help with breaks that need to be covered.Ability to perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.High level of customer service experience and skills.Keyboard and data entry experience.Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.ResponsibilitiesGreet patients upon arrival and answer questions or concerns with care and compassion.Maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with patient flow.Utilize phlebotomy skills to assist with specimen collection.Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients in a safe and accurate manner.Demonstrate excellence in customer care focusing on sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.Maintain a safe and professional environment.Maintain required records and documentation.Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.Assist with check-ins at the kiosk and help patients feel comfortable while waiting.Fill in for breaks and cover for staffing shortages as needed.SkillsPhlebotomy.Customer Service.Data Entry.Specimen Collection.Specimen Processing.Qualification And EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.Phlebotomy experience is required, which may include internship or externship experience.Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience (e.g., Retail, Home Health Aide).
