Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Valid state license for Respiratory Therapists.
• Proficiency in operating respiratory care equipment and performing diagnostic procedures.
• Strong clinical skills with in-depth knowledge of respiratory care techniques and protocols.

Respiratory Therapist Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' respiratory health by conducting physical exams and reviewing medical histories.
• Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans per physician orders and patient needs.
• Administer and monitor therapeutic treatments, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and adjust treatment plans based on results.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and home care practices.
• Operate, clean, and maintain respiratory equipment to ensure functionality and hygiene.

Respiratory Therapist Role Summary

• As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you'll assess, treat, and manage patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and nurses, to deliver comprehensive respiratory care and maximize patient outcomes.
