Forklift Operator

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator with experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for moving, locating, loading, unloading, and stacking products while maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment.

Essential Skills

• At least 2+ years of forklift experience, including safe operation of a sit-down forklift.
• Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency using ERP systems to manage and track inventory data.
• Experience using RF scanners for inventory transactions and stock movements.
• Demonstrated experience in order pulling and picking within a warehouse or production setting.
• Ability to verify shipment accuracy and identify discrepancies in counts or documentation.
• Capability to inspect incoming parts and materials for damage, shortages, and nonconformance.
• Ability to prepare and handle basic shipping documentation such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording inventory data and labeling items.
• Ability to safely load and unload materials and follow established safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Heavy forklift experience, including operation of forklifts up to approximately 36,000 lbs capacity.
• Experience operating a reach truck in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating a cherry picker for order picking at various heights.
• Experience operating an overhead crane to move heavy or oversized items.
• Familiarity with climate-controlled manufacturing or warehouse operations.
• Comfort working across different shifts as business needs require.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment, providing a comfortable and consistent setting throughout the year. The position involves working around production equipment, storage areas, and material handling systems such as forklifts and overhead cranes. Multiple shift options are available, including seven openings on 1st shift (5:00 AM – 2:30 PM) and one opening on 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 12:30 AM), offering some flexibility in scheduling. The work involves standing, walking, and operating material handling equipment for extended periods, as well as handling tools, supplies, and inventory in warehouse and storage areas. The organization is planning a move to a new facility in the near future, located near Fry, which will provide an updated and modern work setting. Employees are expected to follow standard safety procedures and wear appropriate work attire and protective equipment as required for a manufacturing and warehouse environment.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
