About the role

Picture your day starting with a quick equipment check, blades laid out, spacers measured to spec, and the first master roll staged. You dial in web tension, thread the web, and bring the line up to speed—eyes on alignment, ears tuned for the slightest change. Throughout the shift you fine-tune slit width, build clean, stable rewinds, and document every step so the next order runs even better. When a tracking hiccup or wrinkle appears, you troubleshoot fast—adjusting nip, tension, and blade setup to restore perfect edges and a pristine roll build.

What you’ll do

• Independently set up, run, and change over slitting/rewinding equipment to meet work orders, drawings, and product specifications.
• Install and adjust blades, spacers, cores, shafts, chucks, and related tooling with accuracy.
• Safely load/unload and handle rolls using proper material-handling methods.
• Control and monitor slit width, web tension, alignment, roll build, rewind quality, and overall finished roll appearance throughout the run.
• Process a wide range of flexible materials including pressure-sensitive adhesives, films, papers, liners, and foams.
• Inspect output for width, edge quality, roll condition, telescoping, defects, contamination, and cosmetic standards using approved tools/samples.
• Troubleshoot typical slitting issues such as tension variation, tracking problems, poor roll build, adhesive transfer, wrinkles, and slit-edge defects.
• Complete all required documentation: work orders, material usage records, labels, inspection forms, and production paperwork.
• Keep machines, blades, shafts, tooling, and work areas clean per established procedures; maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Communicate promptly with supervision and Quality about material, equipment, process, or quality concerns.
• Support standard work, training of others, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring

• At least 3 years operating slitting/rewinding equipment or comparable roll-to-roll converting machinery.
• Proven ability to complete machine setups, adjustments, changeovers, and sustained production runs independently.
• Hands-on experience installing/adjusting blades, spacers, cores, and shafts.
• Background with roll-fed materials like PSA, films, liners, tapes, papers, and other flexible substrates.
• Working knowledge of web handling, slit-width control, tension control, rewind quality, and finished roll inspection.
• Mechanical aptitude and skill in making precise machine adjustments and resolving routine slitting issues.
• Ability to read work orders, specifications, drawings, approved samples, and production documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, quality mindset, reliable attendance, and team orientation.

Preferred experience

• Operating duplex slitter/rewinders.
• Slitting films, release liners, PSA materials, tapes, or specialty converted products.
• Razor, shear, and/or score slitting methods.
• Roll-to-roll production with tension-sensitive materials.
• Use of calipers, rulers, gauges, approved samples, and other metrology tools.
• ISO-controlled, medical-device, or similarly regulated manufacturing.
• Coaching or training developing operators.

Physical requirements

• Stand and operate manufacturing equipment for extended periods.
• Lift and move materials, tooling, cores, shafts, and machine components.
• Safely handle rolls using material-handling equipment.
• Bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive production tasks.
• Visually inspect slit material and finished rolls for quality.
• Wear required PPE and safely handle blades and production materials per procedures.

Compensation, schedule, and benefits

• Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
• Schedule: Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM; overtime may be available or required depending on production needs.
