Medical Technician

Job TitleClinical Laboratory TechnicianJob DescriptionPerform moderately complex clinical laboratory examinations and procedures in support of patient diagnosis and treatment. Operate, calibrate, and perform quality control on a variety of laboratory analyzers and instrumentation. Evaluate quality control data, makes necessary adjustments, and conduct routine operator maintenance to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Perform preparatory and processing activities associated with specialized laboratory testing, including collecting and handling patient specimens. Select the appropriate specimen collection methods, anticoagulants, and blood volumes required for testing and ensures specimen integrity throughout the testing process. Perform urine microscopic examinations, identifying casts, crystals, cellular elements, and other formed components. Maintain accurate quality control records and worksheets, ensuring all quality control results are within established limits before patient test results are released.
