Assembly Technician

Location: Phoenix Metro Area, AZ

Shift: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM (8:00 or 8:30 AM start time), with a 1-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks

Pay: $16.00 per hour

The Assembly Technician performs basic mechanical assembly and subassembly work in a manufacturing environment. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work with very small components in tight spaces, including plugging small cables and connectors into motherboards with extremely small pins.

The ideal candidate is comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented work and can follow written instructions while maintaining established quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform basic mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
• Read and interpret work instructions and parts lists.
• Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials needed to build products.
• Operate hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools to complete assemblies.
• Connect small cables and components to motherboards, including working with very small pins and components in confined spaces.
• Follow detailed work instructions to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Perform standard testing and minor troubleshooting.
• Inspect completed work and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the assembly process.
• Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding production activities.
• Maintain an organized and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, which is an essential function of this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform repetitive assembly operations.
• General knowledge of hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for working with very small cables, pins, and electronic components.
• Willingness and ability to learn new assembly processes.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints is preferred but not required.

Experience:

• 1+ years of manufacturing, assembly, production, or other hands-on experience preferred but not required.
• Experience performing small-component, electronic, mechanical, or cable assembly is a plus.
• Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently.
• Ability to use arms, hands, and fingers for repetitive assembly tasks.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to work with small cables, connectors, pins, and circuit boards.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for sustained periods throughout the workday.
