Full-Time | Long-Term Care | Up to $80,000/Year Based on Experience

What You'll Do

As our Registered Dietitian, you'll play an important role in supporting resident health and well-being while collaborating with nursing, dietary staff, residents, families, and facility leadership.

Responsibilities include:

• Assess and document residents' nutritional needs based on comprehensive assessments and care plans.
• Develop and provide individualized nutrition recommendations.
• Review and plan regular and therapeutic diets and menus.
• Counsel residents regarding dietary preferences, food habits, appetite, and therapeutic diets.
• Assess and document food allergies and cultural considerations that may affect food consumption.
• Evaluate meals for nutritional adequacy, preparation methods, taste, appearance, serving temperature, and portion size.
• Approve permanent menu substitutions.
• Evaluate meal service times, sanitation, food-handling procedures, and dietary equipment.
• Assist with recipe adjustments and food-service planning.
• Help establish and maintain effective systems for ordering food and dietary supplies.
• Serve as a liaison between residents and the dietary department.
• Plan and conduct nutrition-related in-service training for dietary employees, nurses, and nursing assistants.
• Evaluate dietary department staffing needs and make recommendations as appropriate.
• Support infection-control procedures and Residents' Rights policies.
• Ensure the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is followed in accordance with applicable state and federal guidelines.
• Communicate resident and family needs with appropriate members of the care team.
• Assist with the direction and management of the dietary team.
• Maintain confidentiality when working with resident records and other protected information.
• Perform other related duties as directed by facility leadership.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or a related field.
• Current Registered/Licensed Dietitian credential as required by the state.
• Ability to successfully complete required background and compliance checks.
• Dependable transportation.
• Computer skills, including email, word processing, and database use.

Preferred

• 1+ year of Dietitian experience in a long-term care setting.
• Previous experience leading or managing dietary professionals.
• Activities Professional certification.
