It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns. POSITION SUMMARY: Obtains appropriate specimen by venipuncture, MMH breath test, micropuncture or oral swab from all patient age groups in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings for laboratory test analysis. Performs all clerical functions required to maintain work area in a customer focused, efficient manner. Correctly orders test information into the LIS. EXPERIENCE: • One (1) year full time phlebotomy experience preferred. COMPETENCIES: • 3rd shift Phlebotomist incumbents will be cross-trained in Lab Aide duties to supplement business needs on an as-needed basis only. • Certain designated assignments require the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (appropriate as outlined in the Eastern Connecticut Health Network’s Environment of Care Safety Policies and Procedures #110) maintain a driving record free of any violations and pass a safe driving educational program upon hire and annually thereafter.
