Women’s Health APRN/CNM: Pregnancy & Postpartum Care

Job Description The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who may also be licensed as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and has been prepared with the appropriate graduate level education and authorized to practice and prescribe as such. The APP may provide a full range of primary care health women’s health services, including but not limited to pregnancy care, menopause care, annual gynecological care, and as directed by their state designated scope of practice. Responsibilities Delivery & Post‑Partum Provide postpartum care, education, and discharge planning. Interpret fetal heart rate tracings, perform rupture of membranes, and place internal monitors if necessary. Assist during caesarian sections or be involved in vaginal deliveries. Provide physical, mental, and emotional support post‑partum. ED & OB Triage Evaluate gynecology consults in the ED with a collaborating physician. Evaluate and treat pregnant patients in OB triage, including monitoring for labor, reading and interpreting NSTs, diagnosing and managing common pregnancy conditions. Qualifications Education: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with a Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited program. Years of Experience: 2–3 years of Women’s Health or Certified Nurse Midwife experience preferred. Required Skills and Knowledge Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide culturally specific patient care and education. Effective communication with peers, appropriate channels of communication, and confidentiality. Evidence of continuing professional growth. Ability to accept change and work in a culturally diverse setting. License & Certifications Current valid license (registration) by the Ohio Board of Nursing or applicable state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as dictated by the delineation of privileges.
