Technician, Lead Behavior Modification (26-27) Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools - Charlotte, North Carolina The Lead Behavior Modification Technician reports to general supervision and provides behavioral support and professional development to school staff. The role includes district-wide training, support for schools, observation of behavior management techniques, and guidance to BMTs and other behavioral support staff. The employee carries out district and school-level tasks to implement Board of Education policies and ensure effective behavior modification across schools. Essential Duties Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures. Implement a behavioral program designed to bring positive and appropriate changes. Lead school-based BMTs and support staff through training, delegating, reviewing work, coordinating schedules, and communicating with stakeholders. Assist schools with development, coordination, and implementation of behavior management programs and strategies. Maintain a database of programmatic data for use in reporting. Follow up on possible referrals: contact school-based staff, parents, and community agencies to obtain additional information. Collaborate with schools to implement research-based alternatives to suspension. Observe and document behaviors of designated students; maintain an accurate log of progress, relative behavior and social skills development. Work cooperatively with district staff and community agencies to access resources for students and their parents. Assess crisis situations and defuse them using appropriate conflict resolution and crisis management techniques. Address students’ needs in accordance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Develop and deliver presentations and training. Facilitate staff meetings and attend related meetings as needed. Create an inclusive environment with positive communication and public relations.
