CT Technologist

Responsibilities Prepare patients for examination, including positioning, and execute specialty radiologic examinations. Assist radiologist/physician with patient care during procedures. Review patient medical records to verify physician orders prior to examination. Cross‑train in other specialty areas, departments, or facilities as workload demands to broaden skills outside the assigned specialty clinical area. Inspect films for quality and verify proper patient name, date, and medical record number before interpretation by a radiologist. Assist with training of new technologists and technical assistants in all phases of assigned procedures, as requested by supervisor/manager/director. Demonstrate competency and observe safety guidelines when operating specialized equipment in the assigned clinical area. Implement standard precautions on all patients, as directed by hospital policy. Adjust to variable schedules and procedure techniques that may be required at times. Adhere to the MSMC established Personnel Radiation Dosimeter Policy as documented in department protocol and observed by supervisor. Report all equipment malfunctions to the lead technician/supervisor and clinical engineering immediately. Maintain and stock the room with proper supplies necessary to complete radiologic examinations. Demonstrate knowledge and proper use of computer programs, particularly EPIC and SYNAPSE systems. Complete exam data entry on all studies performed daily, as well as any other necessary paperwork associated with each case. Attend monthly department staff meetings as scheduled. Qualifications Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) – CT, and hold a current Florida General Radiographer license from the Department of HRS, Radiation Control. BLS/CPR certification required. Graduate of an AMA‑accredited educational radiologic technology program for radiologic technology or equivalent. One year of clinical experience at the staff technologist level.
