Registered Nurse (RN) Washington Department of Corrections Contracts

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is actively seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) interested in contract Correctional opportunities in Washington State. Multiple locations are available throughout Washington State, offering competitive pay, consistent schedules, and the opportunity to work in a variety of correctional healthcare settings.

Current Locations

Clallam Bay Correctional Center Clallam Bay, WA

• Travel RN: Up to $3,243/week gross
• Local RN: $70/hour
• Medium to Amergisum Security Facility

Stafford Creek Correctional Center Aberdeen, WA

• Travel RN: Up to $3,164/week gross
• Local RN: $65/hour
• Minimum to Medium Security Facility

Washington Correctional Center Shelton, WA

• Travel RN: Up to $3,006/week gross
• Local RN: $65/hour
• Minimum to Amergisum Security Facility
• ER, Med Surg, or Critical Care experience preferred

Washington Corrections Center for Women Gig Harbor, WA

• Travel RN: Up to $2,974/week gross
• Local RN: $65/hour
• Minimum to Amergisum Security Facility

Schedule

• Most facilities operate on a 5x8 schedule (five 8-hour shifts per week)
• Day, evening, and night shifts may be available depending on facility needs

Minimum Requirements

• Active Washington RN License or Compact RN License
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Ability to pass clearance requirements

Clearance Process This position requires all candidates to complete a clearance process before they can be submitted to facility openings. Clearance is required for consideration at any facility and may take several weeks to complete.

Many nurses choose to obtain clearance in advance to be considered for both current and upcoming opportunities.

The Correctional RN works in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, correctional officers, and administrators to ensure the well-being of the incarcerated population. The Correctional RN utilizes their knowledge to address the specific challenges and limitations of the correctional environment while providing care to their patient population. This care includes both routine and emergency health care in a correctional facility setting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
• Minimum of one year of correctional health care experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
