Senior Fullstack Engineer
Location - New York, NY or San Francisco, CA (Hybrid - 3 Days per Week)

Compensation - $120,000 - $250,000 Base + Competitive Equity

As the engineering organization expands, they're investing heavily in platform architecture, AI infrastructure, and production systems that will serve as the long-term foundation of the business.

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you'll own core platform architecture, AI-native workflows, financial systems, and production infrastructure while working closely with founders to build mission-critical healthcare software from the ground up.

What You'll Do

• Architect and build the company's core platform foundation, including domain models, APIs, and production infrastructure
• Design scalable backend systems supporting AI-powered healthcare workflows
• Build AI-native clinical products including documentation, treatment planning, and administrative automation
• Develop financial infrastructure supporting healthcare billing, payments, payroll, and reimbursement workflows
• Design state machines and business logic ensuring correctness across complex healthcare operations
• Build scalable APIs and backend services powering provider and patient experiences
• Develop customer-facing product features across backend and frontend systems
• Design AI infrastructure supporting production LLM workflows and automation
• Build internal operational tooling improving credentialing, compliance, scheduling, and care coordination
• Partner closely with founders, product, and operations teams to translate complex healthcare workflows into software
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and production quality
• Own technical initiatives from architecture through production deployment

Ideal Candidate Background
Experience Requirements

• 4-10 years of experience in full-stack software engineering
• Experience building and shipping production customer-facing software
• Experience working in high-accuracy engineering environments such as fintech, healthcare, insurance, or other operationally complex industries
• Experience owning architecture decisions, system design, or major platform initiatives
• Experience building product platforms in Series A or later startups strongly preferred
• Experience designing systems where correctness, reliability, and data integrity are critical
• Startup experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ownership of high-impact technical initiatives

Technical Requirements

• Strong Python engineering skills (required)
• Experience building production full-stack applications
• Strong backend architecture and API design fundamentals
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Firebase
• Experience designing scalable backend systems supporting complex business workflows
• Experience building AI-powered products or LLM-based workflows preferred
• Strong understanding of data modeling, state machines, and production system design
• Strong debugging, testing, and software engineering best practices
• Experience building production financial, healthcare, or operational systems
• Strong product engineering mindset with backend emphasis

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field required
• Strong academic background from a respected engineering program preferred
• Bootcamp-only backgrounds are not preferred
