Job Summary: Tryfacta is seeking a Patient Services Representative for our client in Las Vegas, NV 89107, USA. This is a temporary contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please apply now!
Position Title: Patient Services Representative
Location: 280 S Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107, USA
Duration: Up to 6 months (or once position is backfilled)
Work Schedule: 40 hrs/week. M-Th 7:30am – 6:00pm, 1-hour lunch
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Obtains or updates all required patient information to enter correctly in the electronic health record system and financial accounting software,
- Performs patient check-in and check-out functions,
- Informs and assist patients with any non-medical needs,
- Understands what a patient needs by interviewing and listening to patient's concerns,
- Assists patients with completing forms, consent forms and payment contract forms,
- Receives, processes and balances cash and credit/debit card payments for medical services rendered,
- Reviews patient accounts, identify delinquent accounts and collects overdue payments,
- Answers, and/or directs patient inquiries or complaints to the appropriate medical staff member,
- Assists with specific projects related to the assigned department; may obtain and/or provide information from other organizations/community partners,
- Maintains HIPAA compliant and organized desk space to preserve patient confidentiality, security, and safety,
- Ensures all documents are scanned into patient charts promptly for billing purposes and HIPAA compliance,
- Receives, processes, indexes, and tracks medical record documents and record requests while maintaining HIPAA compliance,
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team,
- Acts as receptionist and greets/screens visitors, answers incoming and internal appointment requests; makes reminder calls; provides information which requires the use of judgment and interpretation of policies, rules, and procedures,
- Cross-trained to perform front desk, call center, and medical records duties,
- May train others in work procedures or direct the work of others on a project or relief basis,
- Promotes and supports the overall mission of SNHD by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment,
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Office administrative procedures, clinical practices, and systems including word processing, recordkeeping management, and medical terminology.
- Structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, punctuation, and grammar.
- Basic arithmetic and conducting transactions.
- Techniques for dealing with the public, in person and over the telephone.
Skill and Ability to:
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to deliver superior customer service independently and with instruction.
- Organize own work, multitask, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Read, understand, and interpret information, policies, and procedures of the assigned program.
- Maintain, compile, and organize patient forms and office files.
- Use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
- Contribute effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
- Work collaboratively with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
