Patient Services Specialist 3 – UW Medical Center– Northwest Seattle Breast Center UW Medical Center- Northwest Seattle Breast Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist (job profile: Patient Services Specialist 3). Work Schedule Full‑time (40 hours per week) Day shift: Mondays‑Thursdays 8:15am‑4:45pm; Fridays 9:45am‑5:45pm Hybrid: 2 days per week remote Position Highlights Conveniently located near public transportation Make a difference for patients and staff Opportunity to provide career growth Responsibilities Coordinate front‑desk patient support, reception and discharge activities; schedule appointments, check‑in patients, provide initial triage; coordinate referral and medical records; obtain and verify registration information/insurance. Schedule patients focusing on safety and reducing health‑care errors. Maintain a clean, organized, professional work area; perform related duties as assigned. Create Epic orders and referrals for radiology exams, including exam‑specific CPT and ICD‑10 codes; update demographics, guarantor accounts, and insurance payors. Participate in process improvement projects to increase daily throughput of Epic work‑queue orders. Analyze Epic work‑queue orders and assist in workflow efficiency enhancements. Improve processing of external provider orders via the Fax document‑management application to schedule in Epic; identify solutions for anesthesia and sedation nurse triage coordination. Act as a subject‑matter expert for scheduling modality, troubleshoot Epic errors. Assist with training new staff and serve as a go‑to team resource. Monitor Epic schedule templates to ensure proper resource‑level loading. Audit online ticket scheduling appointments for accuracy of order placement, referral completion, and resource selection. Analyze no‑show, cancellation, wait‑list follow‑up reports and perform patient follow‑up to reduce revenue loss. Collaborate with Supervisor and Business Manager to capture workgroup behavior and provide solutions for workflow inefficiencies, including external referral submissions, payor authorization, imaging protocol and coding changes, and patient access to services. Respond to patient needs and concerns, maintaining a Patient First mentality. Develop and maintain good working relationships within the department, with other departments and all medical staff. Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent. At least two years experience as a Patient Services Specialist 2. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $21.84 – $30.30 per hour.
