Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, typically 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend on a rotating basis
• Call: No call requirement
• Charting: Epic
• Patient Population: Newborns through older adults, including minor and critically ill patients

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or confirmation that the Illinois RN license application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience required; 2 years of emergency department nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS certifications
• Experience caring for patients with a wide range of emergency and critical-care diagnoses
• Proficiency with vasoactive, cardiac, antihypertensive, and other titratable infusions
• Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary emergency care environment

Travel Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, patient-centered nursing care in a 65-bed emergency department with private rooms and dedicated trauma bays
• Care for approximately 1:3–5 patients based on acuity and department needs
• Assess, triage, stabilize, monitor, and reassess patients with emergent and non-emergent conditions
• Care for patients experiencing trauma, stroke, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, respiratory compromise, and other complex conditions
• Administer medications and safely titrate critical-care infusions according to established protocols
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and promptly escalate changes in patient condition
• Support airway management and care for patients receiving ventilatory support, CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Obtain specimens, draw labs, initiate interventions, and coordinate diagnostic testing and patient transport
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, emergency department technicians, and other members of the care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Participate in trauma and resuscitation care as assigned, including care of stabilized trauma patients
• Maintain flexibility with scheduling, including rotating weekends and holidays as required by department needs
