We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations of a dynamic and growing organization and to provide leadership across financial reporting, close processes, compliance, controls, and team development. This contract position offers a hybrid schedule in Brentwood , TN, and is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process , ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate, complete, and timely.
• Manage and mentor accounting team members while providing oversight of financial reporting activities and operational accounting processes.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and lead all aspects of the annual audit process, ensuring timely and high-quality audit support.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of internal controls and compliance initiatives.
• Evaluate existing processes and develop enhanced controls and procedures to support business growth and changing operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support finance transformation initiatives , including process improvements, system enhancements, and automation projects.
• Develop, coach, and train accounting staff to strengthen technical accounting knowledge and overall team performance.
• Partner with leadership to identify risks, maintain strong financial governance, and support business continuity planning.
• Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a large, complex, or high-volume business environment.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience leading or supervising accounting or finance professionals.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, and U.S. GAAP .
• Experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, and audit processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and work cross-functionally with business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation .
• Prior experience with a Big Four public accounting firm.
• Exposure to finance transformation, ERP implementations, or process automation initiatives.
