Registered Nurse Emergency Department

Job Overview Holy Rosary has a busy 8‑bed emergency department with a broad scope of services. We see approximately 5,000 patients annually and are a regional hub for critically ill or injured patients. Holy Rosary Healthcare provides walk‑in care 7 days per week to increase access to care. Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence‑based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Shift Details Full time (36 budgeted hours). Three 12‑hour shifts per week; shifts may vary. Location Emergency department – Holy Rosary Healthcare Scope of Practice Evaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data. Performs health teaching and health counseling. Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well‑being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others. Executes delegated medical functions. Refers to patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment. Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans. Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Uses resources as needed. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS‑HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire and kept current thereafter. Trauma Nursing Core Skill (TNCC) within 1 year of hire and kept current thereafter. Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire and kept current thereafter. Emergency Nursing Pediatric Care (ENPC) within 1 year of hire and kept current thereafter. Ability to perform essential duties including monitoring patient needs, operating equipment, communicating with providers, manual dexterity, lifting and moving patients, standing for extended periods, and navigating busy rooms. Requirement that nurses with an ASN degree hired after July 1, 2020 obtain a BSN within five years of employment unless exempt as per policy. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
