When the 2nd shift clock starts, you’re the one who brings each job to life. You walk up to a CNC mill or lathe, verify the program, install the right fixtures, set the tooling, and dial in offsets to hit tight tolerances. You run the first piece, measure it with precision instruments, and make smart adjustments so production flows smoothly. Operators count on your guidance; quality depends on your judgment; schedules benefit from your troubleshooting instincts. If you have Tool and Die experience, you’ll leverage it constantly across setups and fixturing decisions.

Shift: 2nd Shift

Core Impact

• Install fixtures, load or verify CNC programs, and set tooling to launch new production runs.
• Execute tool changes and offsets; fine-tune feeds, speeds, and processes to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality.
• Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and inspection criteria to ensure every feature is correct.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup challenges to reduce downtime and raise efficiency.
• Support machine operators throughout the run, offering direction and best practices.
• Track tool wear, watch machine performance, and sustain process consistency.
• Document setups and production details accurately and completely.
• Model safe work habits while upholding quality and housekeeping standards.

What You Bring

• Proven CNC setup experience in a precision machining environment.
• Background setting up CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings with confidence.
• Hands-on understanding of tight tolerances, tooling selection, offsets, feeds, and speeds.
• Fluent with precision metrology: calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Comfort working independently and as a teammate in a fast-paced shop.
• Tool and Die experience preferred.

Preferred Background

• Tool and Die or related tooling experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with GD&T and structured inspection processes.
• Experience with fixture setup, process improvement, and complex machining troubleshooting.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
