Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse and perform select clinical duties. Interview patients, record vital signs, and input information into patient charts. Prepare treatment rooms for the examination of patients. Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing. Perform basic materials‑management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies; assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment. Document the provider’s encounter with patients: list all proper diagnoses and symptoms, follow‑up instructions, prescriptions, and transcribe orders such as laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications. Minimum Requirements BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire or job transfer (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted). Required Medical Assistant credential (one of the following): National Healthcareer Association (NHA) within 6 months of hire (American Medical Certification also accepted). National Association for Health Professionals within 6 months (American Medical Certification also accepted). National Center for Competency Testing within 6 months (American Medical Certification also accepted). American Association of Medical Assistants within 6 months (American Medical Certification also accepted). American Medical Technologists within 6 months (American Medical Certification also accepted). High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job‑specific experience required. Note: Licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. Preferred: CMA certification.
