Overview
Medical Secretary / Patient Service Representative, General, San Luis Obispo, CA. Start date 08/03/2026 for 13 weeks on a travel - temporary assignment. Evening shift (5x8) with 40 guaranteed hours per week. Pay range: $920-$953 per week. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This assignment is for a single real opening and offers focused revenue-cycle support in a hospital outpatient context.

Responsibilities
- Review, analyzes and coordinates charge master activities to support accurate billing
- Enter outpatient charges accurately into the billing system and verify against encounter forms
- Collaborate with department staff to code billable items and secure needed information
- Balance charge summaries to encounter forms before charges are posted; keep supervisor informed of matters
- Analyze reports and software edits to facilitate revisions with appropriate departments
- Coordinate projects and audits to improve revenue cycle processes, charging efficiency, and collections

Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s/Technical degree preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS certification; current nursing license per state of assignment
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; charge-entry/billing experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Skills: Strong data entry skills; ability to work accurately in a high-volume revenue-cycle environment
- General: Ability to work in a hospital setting and adapt to defined procedures and shifting priorities
