Building and Grounds Assistant (Custodial/Janitorial)

Job Summary Performs a variety of custodial/ janitorial tasks to maintain the University’s facilities during the third shift (Sunday through Thursday, 10:00pm to 6:00am). Essential Duties Sweep, mop, dust, and clean rooms and hallways; general cleaning of rooms. Clean windows, vacuum, shampoo carpets, strip and wax floors. Clean and sanitize restrooms. Pick up trash, debris, and litter from buildings and grounds; empty trash receptacles. Assist with maintaining safe indoor/outdoor surfaces, including during inclement weather. May support events, deliver equipment and supplies, and perform cleaning in dining areas as needed. Assist with other related campus duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High‑school diploma or GED. No prior experience required. Driver’s license may be required. Physical Requirement Must successfully pass a Post‑Offer Pre‑Employment (POPE) physical. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of cleaning equipment and materials. Ability to understand and follow directions. Additional Position Information Criminal background check required. Position participates in E‑Verify.
