A/R Manager

Client: Manufacturing/Distribution Organization Role: Accounts Receivable Manager (Temporary to Permanent) Pay Rate: $55-60/hr Location: Brooklyn, NY - Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Direct Supervision: Manage, mentor, and support a team of 5 A/R Specialists to ensure high performance and proficiency in their roles. Training & Onboarding: Provide hands‑on training for existing staff and lead the onboarding process for new hires regarding customer accounts and internal procedures. Performance Management: Conduct monthly team meetings to review customer trial balances, evaluate account performance, and establish clear operational priorities. Credit, Collections & Compliance Credit Risk Management: Evaluate and manage customer credit terms and limits in strict accordance with company procedures. Tax Compliance: Maintain and audit customer resale certificate records to ensure accuracy, validity, and compliance with state and federal tax regulations. Vendor & Agency Oversight: Monitor third‑party freight claim services to ensure timely filings against carriers, and audit A/R recovery agency commissions for monthly billing accuracy. Financial Operations & International Trade Deductions & Promotions: Collaborate with the Sales Team and brokers to navigate billbacks and promotional programs. Review, code, and approve check requests for vendor marketing charges. Approvals & Cash Application: Review, code, and approve daily A/R Credit Memo Requests. Ensure all unapplied payments are investigated and resolved immediately. International Accounts: Manage wire transfers for international customers, track open international orders, and ensure advance payments are correctly applied post‑final billing. Month‑End Accounting & Reporting Journal Entries & Accruals: Perform monthly calculations for A/R‑related accruals and prepare corresponding journal entries. Reserve Management: Calculate annual Accounts Receivable reserves and oversee their appropriate application throughout the fiscal year. Department Administration: Oversee the department’s shared Outlook inbox, ensuring requests are triaged and delegated efficiently.
