Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Project Manager Opportunity in Chicago

A growing general contractor is expanding its Chicago team and is looking to add two Project Managers to its Central group. These individuals will play a key role in managing a growing pipeline of private and commercial construction projects throughout the Chicago market.

What You'll Do

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion
• Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall execution
• Manage project financials, including budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and forecasting
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Review contracts, plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
• Maintain project schedules and proactively identify potential delays or cost issues
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with all project stakeholders
• Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards
• Work closely with the Superintendent and field team to coordinate day-to-day project execution
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
• Build and maintain strong client and trade-partner relationships
• Help drive successful project outcomes while contributing to the continued growth of the Chicago team

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects
• Experience with a general contractor or construction management firm
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes from preconstruction through closeout
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and subcontractors
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
