Commercial Director

A growth-stage business in the industrial minerals sector is building out its executive team and hiring a Commercial Director to own its end-to-end commercial function. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with full accountability for revenue, margin, and supply security across both sourcing and sales. You’ll lead two sides of the value chain: securing reliable, cost-competitive third-party feedstock, and building the global customer portfolio for the company's own product offtake. That means owning pricing strategy, negotiating complex high-value supply and offtake contracts, managing counterparty and market risk, and representing the business externally with customers, suppliers, industry bodies, and financiers. This is a scaling business, so the role goes well beyond running commercial as-is. You’ll help shape the commercial model, contribute to corporate strategy as a member of the executive team, and play a real part in growing the national footprint. What we're looking for: 15+ years of progressive commercial experience in sales, marketing, trading, or procurement Related industry background in minerals or materials manufacturing A track record negotiating and managing complex international supply and offtake agreements Genuine executive presence, comfortable reporting to and presenting to the C-suite and board The strategic range to help scale a business model and expand a national footprint Willingness to relocate to central Virginia and be onsite with the executive team Comfort with significant domestic and international travel (30% - 50%) This is a rare chance to build and lead a commercial function from the ground up in a business with serious growth ahead of it!
